There is a melee free spot during the final battle with Seren when she uses the eggs and fire attacks.  You will take constant fire damage as you will not move, but if you bring an inventory of sailfish or better food, you can survive the battle.  In the first round where Seren keeps yelling FIRE with rows of pink fire appearing, avoid these as best you can.  Once that phase is over with and the EGGS start floating around, move to the southwestern most spot near the water (just west of one of the fire producing ladies and south of some plants/shrubs).  The eggs do not reach that area for the entire battle so all you have to contend with is the pink fire that keeps getting generated but with an inventory of good food, you should be able to survive.
